Research Project Title:
The feasibility of measuring physical function and patient-reported outcomes across the surgical timeline in head and neck cancer.

Background:
As a wellness advocate, world traveler and visionary, Julia’s passion is to promote health and wellness for both chronic and healthy populations. Julia graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and minor in Italian studies in 2017. Collectively, she has over ten years of teaching and leadership experience, as well as over five years specializing in exercise for cancer survivorship. Having traveled to all seven continents and over forty countries, Julia has developed a comprehensive appreciation for the diversity of our human population, and as such, has cultivated a multi-modal approach to health promotion.

Career Goals:
Julia hopes to combine her passion for traveling with health and wellness advocacy,and ultimately practice medicine on a global scale. In her research, Julia will use a patient-oriented framework and will focus on knowledge translation in order to move evidence into practice, and help make exercise part of standard cancer care.
