The ONlinE-MINDfulness During Chemotherapy (ONE-MIND) & The SmartphonE App-based MindfuLnEss for cancer SurvivorS (SEAMLESS)
Dr. Subnis is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine, working with Dr. Linda E. Carlson, a recognized expert in Mindfulness and Cancer Care. He is interested in designing and developing psychosocial therapies based on contemplative practices for chronic care patients. Dr. Subnis is also interested in developing health technology applications for chronic disease populations especially cancer survivors the world over using the internet and smart phone technology. Additionally, Dr. Subnis is interested in exploring how guided meditations and other contemplative practices can be taught to patients without the presence of a trained instructor, while maintaining the integrity of these practices. He has been a practitioner of guided compassion centered meditation on a regular basis.
Dr. Subnis is looking for new opportunities that look at research-based approaches to design and deliver smartphone app-based health programs that can reach patients worldwide without the need to travel or schedule classes.
